A Bit of Flash is sired by Mr Cognac Bey (Moonlight Bey++ X Cognique by Cognac). Mr Cognac Bey (CB) has sired numerous Half-Arabian regional and national champions in halter and performance, including the 1996 U.S. and Canadian National Reserve Champion Half-Arabian Futurity Filly NTC Rythem in Bey. Of CB's progeny, only 30 are purebred Arabians, and of those, only two are breeding stallions. A Bit of Flash is one of them.
Two full brothers are making their name in the Arabian Sport Horse world, with regional championships in dressage and sport horse in-hand. Flash himself won his first Sport Horse Stallion Class in 2007 with a score of 36 out of 40 in conformation. He was named Region 10 Reserve Champion Sport Horse Stallion In-Hand in 2008.
A Bit of Flash has substance and charisma, a workable disposition and an explosive trot. He is bred to be beautiful, trainable and athletic, with a pedigree worthy to be perpetuated. Flash's first foal, the 2007 bay gelding, Flashpoint MR, is already a blue ribbon winner, winning his age class at the Norway, MI, Class A show. A month later he placed third in all three of his futurity classes at the 2008 Arabian Futurity Festival and won his owners over $1500.
Flash's 2008 foals include two fillies and a colt. The fillies are lovely, the colt cute, and all three are athletic and personable. Flash has three mares checked in foal for 2009, two purebreds and a Saddlebred. We continue to expect good things.
